For more than 40 years St Margaret’s Hospice Care has been helping patients, families and carers across Somerset facing a life-limiting illness. All proceeds from this event will go to St Margaret’s Hospice to help them continue to support patients who are facing life-limiting illnesses and their families.
JAM Duo were delighted to be asked to provide music for a Black Tie Ball, held at Taunton School on Friday 25 February 2022.
This was also our first opportunity to bring our brand new Piano Shell which is new for 2022. As well as that we also brought our new Yamaha Electric Cello. For events like this where there are around 200 people in a relatively small space the electric cello with a PA system is the only sensible route. The acoustic cello, lovely as it is, simply wouldn’t be loud enough in such a situation.
This is where our lovely Yamaha Electric Cello comes in. It has the same beautiful tone as the acoustic instrument but can be directly amplified through a PA so that our Cello and Piano Duo can provide music for even more large scale events and corporate parties.
The Yamaha Electric Cello SVP110
The SVP 110 is an Electric cello with superior feel and tone with an acoustic-body resonating chamber for professional stage & recording performance – and silent practice.
Yamaha designers worked together with some of the world’s greatest cellists to create the SVC-110. The talent of these artists is reflected in their beautiful warm tone and comfortable playability. The SVC-110 plays and sounds so similar to a fine acoustic cello, that Anne-Marie found it surprisingly expressive and comfortable to use.
JAM Duo at Taunton School
We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Black Tie Event for St Margaret’s Hospice. It was held in the beautiful surroundings of Taunton School and we provided a range of music during the welcome drinks reception.
