This was our first trip to Moxhull Hall and despite it not being that far from the Cotswolds, it was a day to set off slightly earlier than usual as we were up against a train strike. This didnt affect us directly, other than it meant more people would be wanting to use the same stretch of the M5 and M42 which we were hoping to have a go on today!

Where outdoor ceremonies are planned, boring as it sometimes it, we do have to be conscious of the weather. Today it was looking slightly cloudy overheard. Nevertheless the hotel manager was very keen on blue sky thinking and assured us the ceremony would go ahead outside. It turned out he was right, despite a few clouds the weather was perfectly good for both the ceremony and the drinks reception which followed.
Making our way to the ceremony area, we soon had our piano shell and electric cello all set up and ready. With the increased number of outdoor weddings. we always go prepared with our own power supply. Even when, like today, there is a nearby outdoor power socket, we tend to use our own power as this just means we are not in any way restricted and can set ourselves up in the most appropriate place.
Arriving on schedule and preceded by her Bridesmaids, Kay walked in to our arrangement of ‘One Day Like This’ by Elbow.
Despite a few umbrellas being handed out, it turned out they weren’t needed and before long everyone was making their way back up from the ceremony to a short drinks reception which was held outside on the lawns around the hotel.
Our piano shell is very easy to move around venues so moments later, JAM Duo were providing music again whilst guests drank pink champagne and enjoyed plentiful canapés.
