This was our first visit to Oxnead Hall just outside Norwich in Norfolk. And what a delightful venue it is!
The wedding ceremony was held outside in the beautiful gardens.
Anne-Marie was today looking resplendent as always. To contrast with the wedding colours we chose to wear purple and this provided a stunning contrast with the green of the gardens.
Setting up at the back of the ceremony area we provided music as the guests arrived and mingled before taking their seats for Francesca and Jonathan’s wedding. The sun also soon made an appearance and before long we were looking for somewhere slightly more shaded!
The drinks reception was also held outside and we moved just to the shade of a nearby building whilst we carried on playing for the duration of the drinks reception. Jules was particularly delighted when one of the wedding planners bought him a selection of biscuits!
One of the things we noticed about Oxnead Hall is that the planners all wore headsets and they were extremely organised – although the one thing they didnt plan for was the bride being a little late!! And so with a few mutters into earpieces, everything was soon organised to run 20 minutes or so later than the schedule suggested. For us this is no problem as we knew we were booked up to the end of the wedding meal.
Moving indoors for the wedding meal, this was our final set up for the day. Ironically without our piano shell it actually took slightly longer. The Piano shell, whilst heavy does enable us to carry the keyboard at the same time, which is not so easy when it’s just sitting on the keyboard stand. Nevertheless, before too long we had everything ready and set up to play during the meal. On this occasion speeches were first and so we had a meal outside kindly provided by the bride and groom.
Sticking with our electric cello setup, we provided music whilst the guests enjoyed a sumptuous three course meal.
