Despite being one of our more local venues, this was in fact our first visit to Manor by the Lake near Cheltenham. We had heard lots about this venue as our friends at the Capriccio Quartet often perform for weddings there.
Today we were here for the wedding of Jodie and Ben and our brief was to provide music for their ceremony, drinks reception and meal.
With the weather being a cross between everything from sun to showers and warm(ish) to quite cold, the ceremony was being held indoors.
We set up at the back of the ceremony room as directed and prepared for the ceremony which included a blend of two songs for the entrance of the bridal party.

The Ceremony Room – Maximilian
A bright and beautiful period room with magnificent views of the impossibly pretty gardens, the Maximilian is an absolutely stunning space.
And that’s not all, it’s a versatile space which is licensed for ceremonies for up to 100 guests, so you can really bring your vision to life.
Wedding Drinks Reception
After the ceremony we moved into the grand hallway to continue providing music for Jody and Ben’s drinks reception. This seemed a sensible location as some guests were outside for photos and others were inside in the various rooms with their drinks from the nearby bar.
The Wedding Breakfast
After the drinks reception we had to move down to the room where the meal was being held. This meant a short walk outside, but the rain wasn’t too bad by this point and it doesn’t take us long to relocate around venues. In some respects it can be easier with our piano shell as we can pick that up with everything contained inside it whereas without we do have to de cable and pack things to move.
Nevertheless we can still relocate in around 10 minutes maximum so it’s never any trouble to move for a wedding meal as we can do this at the point the guests are called and still be ready in plenty of time for the entrance of the Bride and Groom.
On this occasion the speeches were also first which meant we had time to set up in the meal room and then go and have some sandwiches which Jody and Ben had kindly provided for us.
We really enjoyed providing music for Jody and Ben’s Wedding. The cue for the end of our set during the meal was the arrival of some singing waiters at the point desert was served!
