Today we returned to Gosfield Hall in Essex for the delightful wedding of Kersten and Ming.
Our brief today was to provide music for their ceremony and drinks reception. However, on this occasion we performed as a duo during the ceremony with Anne-Marie then providing music on solo cello for the drinks reception.
The Wedding Ceremony
Starting in the Great Hall at Gosfield, we set up using the venue’s grand piano and Anne-Marie’s acoustic (wooden) cello.
The music included:
Pre Ceremony
Schubert – Ave Maria
Gladiator – Now we are free
Christina Aguilera – Reflection
Married Life from Up (piano only)
Lord of the rings – The shire and may it be
Bridal Entrance
Canon in D by Pachelbel (but with the cello as the lead from 1 minute 56 seconds onwards in the clip on your website)
Signing
Scots Wha Hae by Kenneth McKellar
Loch Lomond
Exit
Wedding March by Felix Mendelssohn
Drinks Reception
After the ceremony, due to sound restrictions at the venue only solo acoustic cello was permitted. This meant Anne-Marie playing her cello first outside on the terrace before moving indoors when it started to rain.
The Venue
Gosfield Hall is a stunning Georgian mansion, set in ten acres of manicured grounds and parkland and overlooking Gosfield Lake.
JAM Duo have provided music for a number of weddings at Gosfield. During the ceremony we can play as Piano and Cello Duo. However, if you are considering music for your reception, whether JAM Duo or anyone else, please be aware their (current as of 2023) sound restrictions only permit acoustic instruments.
This makes JAM Duo an ideal choice as we can offer you a mix of Piano and Cello during the ceremony with solo cello during the reception.
