Today was a two venue wedding, starting with a ceremony in the Chapel at Winchester University. The drinks reception was then held at Winchester Cathedral in their Undercroft.
Part of our role is to make sure we know exactly what we are doing and where. And so, with experience of working in Cathedrals and larger establishments we felt it would be prudent to research the plan for the drinks reception earlier in the day.
Arriving in Winchester with a couple of hours to spare before the ceremony we went over to the Cathedral. Firstly we needed to establish where / what the undercroft was! It turned out that rather than a building under the cathedral (as it is Wells) the undercroft is located in the grounds.
With the help of a Cathedral guide, we located the undercroft and also managed to acquire a car parking permit which would enable us to unload into the venue and then park nearby in the Cathedral grounds.
With this research completed we headed over to Winchester University to set up for the Wedding Ceremony.

The Drinks Reception
This was a very intimate wedding with just a few family members on each side and so we really felt part of the reception when we set up in the Courtyard at the Undercroft. It was an absolute pleasure to provide music for Jess and Dan and their lovely guests and they all made us most welcome.
We played for a couple of hours to entertain the wedding guests whilst Jess and Dan were busy with their photographer and videographer and it was a lovely occasion which we thoroughly enjoyed being a part of.
We would like to wish Jess and Dan every happiness as they embark on their married lives together.
