In the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside, The Barn at Berkeley is a traditional Cotswold stone barn that has been lovingly restored.
Full of character and brimming with traditional features, the Barn at Berkeley will provide a stunning backdrop for your celebrations. This was the venue for today’s wedding.

The Wedding Ceremony
Starting in the upstairs ceremony room at the Barn at Berkeley, we set up, as requested, at the rear of the ceremony room. This is a space we are very familiar with having done a good number of weddings there as well as attending a number of open days at the Barn at Berkeley.
With easy access into the venue we were soon set up and ready to play with at least an hour or more to spare until the start of the ceremony. This gave us a chance to catch up with our good friend Patrick Partridge who was there in his capacity as a photographer.
We have come across Pat Partridge at a number of weddings in the Cotswolds and can highly recommend him if you are looking for a wedding photographer. He takes amazing photographs and is also just a thoroughly nice chap!
To be clear the photos on our blog are taken by us on a mobile phone! There are one of two of Pat’s professional photos elsewhere on our website but always with a clear credit.
Music for the Ceremony
Today there were some lovely music choices including a piece we arranged specifically for Emma and Caleb as no written score exists anywhere that we could find. This was the music during the signing – My Favourite Book (Stars) which Jules scored out for us creating a unique arrangement just for Emma and Caleb which we hope they enjoyed.

The Drinks Reception
After the ceremony we swiftly relocated downstairs into the main bar area to provide music during Emma and Caleb’s drinks reception at the Barn at Berkeley.
Emma and Caleb had specifically requested contemporary music but avoiding anything by Ed Sheeran and George Ezra. This is the advantage of our comprehensive client form whereby we give our couples the chance to specify the music they would like us to play for the different parts of their day. But equally we always ask if there is anything they prefer not to hear! We believe it is important to play the music our couples want to hear.
The Venue
The Barn at Berkeley is licensed for civil ceremonies, with two beautiful spaces available for you to exchange your vows so you can spend the entirety of your celebration in one stunning location. The Loft is their largest ceremony space which can accommodate up to 150 seated guests. The Garden is catered toward intimate ceremonies offering a picturesque setting ideal for taking beautiful wedding photos.
This venue also provides ample spaces for you and your guests to relax after your wonderful ceremony. The Parlour is a cosy room suitable for your drinks reception, whatever the weather. This area is equipped with plush seating, a bar and easy access to the gardens. The Barn is a warm and inviting space furnished in traditional features and equipped with a dance floor. This room can seat 150 guests for an exquisite three-course dinner.
This was another lovely wedding which we were honoured to be a small part of. We wish Emma and Caleb every happiness as they embark on their married life together.
