JAM Duo, what can I say, you were absolute perfection for my Bridgerton themed wedding.
Abby Ribiero (bride)
Sometimes it’s best to let our customers do the speaking. We absolutely love what we do and being wedding musicians is, for us at any rate, the best job in the world. We get to meet some lovely people along the way and spend our time making music.
Abby and Tiago were no exception to this and, in truth, were an absolutely lovely couple to work with and we thoroughly enjoyed being part of their wedding day.
Starting at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Pity in Swaffham, we arrived in good time having been given clear information from Abby in terms of parking, access and details of a piano on site.
The original plan (hatched mostly via WhatsApp with Abby in the weeks leading up to her wedding) was to use the church piano. This would mean we only had to take a cello into the church and made our setup a lot easier.
However, on arrival at the church, Jules interacted with the church piano only to find it was hopelessly inadequate and decided this would not be at all appropriate. Whilst we are always happy to use venue pianos we are also conscious that our job is to provide music to the highest possible standard. We both felt that Abby needed a much better entrance than would be possible on the church piano. And so we set about bringing our own kit in but managed to seamlessly locate to one side, thus ensuring we were not being intrusive to photographs etc.
Music for the Wedding Service
Bridal Entrance
Canon in D into Ave Maria (Schubert) when bride enters.
Signing
Timeless – Taylor Swift
Wildest Dreams – Taylor Swift
Exit
Riptide – Vance Joy
Abby had chosen an interesting blend of music for her wedding starting with a more traditional entrance than moving into a world of Taylor Swift and Riptide. Whilst to the untrained eye this may seem a random choice, it was in fact all perfectly in keeping with the Bridgerton theme for the day.
I cannot explain the emotions that went through me as I was stood outside of the church, waiting to enter, hearing you play Ave Maria (Schubert). I have never felt so moved. Your talent is phenomenal.
There were also three hymns during the service which Abby had specifically asked us to play on the piano – Jules is always happy to play the organ but once again the instrument available today was not going to be suitable for a rousing performance of any hymns and so we stuck to our Nord keyboard and it was a delight to hear the guests singing along.
I loved hearing you play our hymns too, it was such a lovely sound for us to sing along to.
The Wedding Reception
After the church service, and whilst photos were being taken outside the church, we had a chance to relocate to the Swaffham Assembly rooms in the centre of town for the wedding reception. Fortunately, once again Abby had been super organised and ensured there was parking right behind the venue which made our setup easy and stress free.
Within moments of arriving we were set up again and providing music during the drinks reception awaiting the arrival of the newly weds.
In terms of music Abby and Tiago had left the choice to us for this part of the day but had requested music to suit their Bridgerton Theme. Planning ahead for this, we have a Bridgerton playlist on our iPads ready for just such an occasion!
After a short drinks reception we then moved again in order to carry on providing music during the wedding breakfast which was in the blue room at the Assembly Hall.
After the meal and during the speeches we moved our instruments back into the red room so we were prepared for the cake cutting and first dance. Abby and Tiago had also kindly provided us with a meal which we enjoyed during this short break. It was then back to the music for our final involvement in their celebrations which was to play for Abby and Tiago’s first dance.
The way you relocated yourselves without bother was magical, you just reappeared perfectly!
The First Dance
Abby and Tiago had chosen Lover by Taylor Swift for their first dance which you can enjoy below.
We really enjoyed being a part of Abby and Tiago’s fabulous Bridgerton themed wedding and we wish them both every happiness as they embark on their married life together.
We will leave the final word to Abby….
Thank you so much for the most special touch and helping to create the most perfect day!!
