The University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Science was the first veterinary school in the United Kingdom to be incorporated into a university. The school’s teaching, treatment and research facilities are on the main campus and at Leahurst on the Wirral Peninsula, approximately 12 miles outside Liverpool.
Today we had the pleasure of providing music for the drinks reception which followed the graduation ceremony for the class of 2024 from the Department of Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool. As well as our music, there were two Merseyside Police horses Carter and Silver with their riders Constable Jess and Constable Vicki.

Having stayed at nearby Chester the night before we had time to explore the locality before arriving at the University of Liverpool’s Leahurst Campus in the early afternoon. Our booking was for a couple of hours in the afternoon to provide music during a drinks reception being held by the University. The reception was for 2024 graduates of the school of veterinary science and their families.
JAM Duo are ideal for providing music at graduation ceremonies and drinks receptions. The cello and piano is a perfect blend to provide background music whilst guests enjoy champagne and canapés. Our sound system is such that we can provide just the right volume in any situation whether a small intimate setting or, like today, in a large marquee with around 1000 people milling around and chatting.
Music for Drinks Receptions
There is nothing worse than walking into a silent room and JAM Duo are the perfect addition to any drinks reception. We have worked at many high profile events and particularly enjoyed providing music for the University of Liverpool’s graduation event at the Leahurst Campus near Chester.

The veterinary team is multidisciplinary providing internationally recognised expertise across a range of clinical areas and encompasses a spectrum of clinical care from first opinion to specialist level.
Located in the heart of rural Cheshire, 12 miles south of Liverpool, the Veterinary School’s Leahurst campus employs over 350 staff, including over 100 veterinary surgeons and teaches veterinary students in all years of their studies, but especially those in their fourth and fifth years.
Uniquely for a veterinary school, they own two working farms that provide fantastic teaching opportunities for the students, and for the many school children (vets of the future!) who come to the visitor centre.
