A Church and Hotel was the order of the day for today’s beautiful wedding between Heledd and Nathan in West Wales.

The Church Ceremony
Our first brief today was to provide music for Heledd and Nathan’s Church ceremony in the Church of St John at Pontsian in Llandysul, Ceredigion.

We had been allocated a space at the front of the church for today’s ceremony where Jules was also booked to play the small organ. In fact it was a custom made chamber organ constructed by a local organ builder in 2011 and it made a very beautiful sound to accompany the hymns which were:

After the ceremony we packed away as swiftly as possible and made our way through the confetti lineup (before the bride and groom!) quickly reloading our kit into the car so we could hot foot it to the reception venue around 30 minutes away and ideally be there ready and set up before the guests arrived.
The Drinks Reception and Meal
Arriving at the Cliff Hotel and Spa in Cardigan Bay, this time we were setting up our Piano Shell and PA system outside on the terrace. We had just managed to do this ahead of the first guests arriving but within 10 minutes of playing it started to rain! Rain can cause serious havoc with our kit – whilst we are waterproof our instruments are not – we have already spent £4500 on a replacement Nord Piano after one got rained on for approximately 30 seconds…!
However the music must always go on no matter what! The venue were extremely kind and within moments had organised two parasols to keep us and our instruments dry which meant the music could carry on. We do carry our own protection against the weather but they were even quicker to put something up!
Moments later it was then blazing hot sunshine! Such is the joy of the British weather and the challenge for any musicians playing outside!
After an hour or so it was then time to relocate into the meal room where we were playing to around 120 or more guests!
We really enjoyed being a part of this fantastic wedding. Heledd and Nathan are a really lovely couple and we felt privileged to be chosen to provide their daytime music. We wish both Heledd and Nathan every happiness as they embark on their married future together.
