A few years ago, back in 2017, Jules bought a shiny new car from a guy called Steve via the Mercedes Benz dealership in Bath. The deal went through very smoothly and,whilst the car has since expired from over use, it remained a positive experience. Roll forward to 2024 and an enquiry for weddings musicians from a chap called Steve saying he often saw Jules in Corsham talking his daughter to school. The very same Steve who sold Jules a car some years earlier.
The moral of the story is firstly, you never know who sees you when you’re out and about and also you never know how your paths may cross with people in the future in an unexpected way.
The only slight spanner in the works was that we already had a booking on the day that Steve was asking about. But again, fortune favours the brave they say, and it turned out our booking that day was a ceremony only in Priston Mill (Sara and Diogo) and Steve wanted us to play for a reception in Frome around 2.30pm. So for probably the first time in history, the timings and the geography matched up to make it possible for us to play for two weddings on the same day.

Festival Vives at a Farm near Frome

Reception / Afternoon package
When we arrived at the farm near Frome in Somerset, the setup looked fantastic. A true festival vibe going on here with some fabulous decorations and a really well thought out setup. The only slight dampner was the weather was being irritable and providing the wrong sort of sunshine for the occasion, aka rain and grey clouds.
This forced us to set up inside the entrance to one of the marquee’s but no matter there was still plenty of buzzing atmosphere and with true British grit and determination, everyone was just getting on with it!
Of course, it was only to be expected that Steve would have chosen very stylish transport for himself and his beautiful bride to arrive in, I wasn’t disappointed in the least by the vintage Rolls Royce which had been chosen for the journey from the church in Corsham, Wiltshire to the festival set up in Frome, Somerset.
We had a fabulous time providing music for Steve and Katie’s wedding and we hope we created the right vibes for them leading from the afternoon reception into the band who had set up for the evening entertainment.
We love festival style weddings and this was another fabulous occasion which was an absolute pleasure to be part of. We wish Steve and Katie every happiness as they set off on their married life together.
