Today we found ourselves in Ipswich at the beautiful Catholic Church of St Mary Magdalene. Having driven over from the Cotswolds the night before we had plenty of time to set up as we had stayed at a hotel locally given the wedding was due to start at 12 noon with arrival from around 11am.

Ursula and Josh
St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Ipswhich
Thursday 25 July 2024
Ceremony Only in a Church

Setting up to one side of the altar as directed by the bride on our client form, we were well placed to see the bridal entrance for which we played Canon in D. Ursula looked amazing in her beautiful dress as she walked up the aisle preceded by her bridesmaids.

Entrance – Canon in D (Johann Pachelbel)
Psalm – As the Deer
Gifts – I Love You – Bridgerton
Communion – Ave Maria (Gounod) and This I Promise You (Ronan Keating) if needed
Signing – Can’t Help falling in love (Elvis Presley) and Yellow (Coldplay)
Exit – Married Life From UP – Piano Solo (Jules Addison)

Today we also made our singing debut! Well certainly under the guise of JAM Duo. Jules used to sing in the choir at University many years ago and both he and Anne-Marie have sung in choirs over the years. Despite this we do not in any way promote ourselves as singers!

But on this occasion the bride wanted the psalm to be sung rather than purely instrumental. Since it was in a church which is where the majority of our singing in the past was done we felt we would be able to offer this one small thing to add as part of the wedding. And so with accompaniment from Jules, we both sang Like as the Hart during the course of the Catholic Mass and Wedding ceremony for Ursula and Josh.

We really enjoyed being a part of Ursula and Josh’s beautiful wedding and we wish them every happiness as they embark on their married life together.
