Following a wedding at Hetland Hall in Scotland two days ago and then a quick dash down to Nottingham, we were back again in the beautiful country of Scotland for today’s wedding at the Lodge on Loch Lomond. As the name suggests the hotel overlooks the stunning Loch and set the scene for today’s wedding.

Ceremony, Drinks and Meal

Arriving at the Lodge on Loch Lomond, the sun was shining as we unpacked our gear from the car. However, it had earlier been raining and so when we made our way into the hotel we were advised the wedding would be indoors. Everything was being set up for an indoor ceremony and so we followed suite and positioned ourselves, as directed, at the rear of the ceremony room. As we had stayed in Scotland the night before we were in plenty of time for today’s wedding and so having set up we had an hour or so to enjoy the views of Loch Lomond before the ceremony was due to start.

However, around 30 minutes before the ceremony, and despite the weather app reporting rain, it was decided to move everything outside. And so we duly followed, disassembling our kit and taking everything outside with literally moments to spare. Having then set up once again and re tuned the cello, we were then told that in fact the ceremony was going to be back indoors.

Obviously, we always want to do our best for the couple and so we duly obliged setting up in record time back where we had been positioned an hour earlier and we were just about ready to play in time as the guests started coming in.

After the ceremony the guests went outside for the confetti shots but with the weather still looking a little ominous we headed into the bar – to set up and play through the drinks reception. This turned out to be a good plan as ten minutes or so later most of the guests had joined us indoors and it was our absolute pleasure to provide music throughout the drinks reception.

It was soon time for the meal and the couple had chosen some great music for us to play as they enjoyed their wedding breakfast:
