East Yorkshire is not exactly near our home in Wiltshire, but with the wedding not starting until 1pm we had plenty of time to drive up to the North East. Leaving home just after 6am we were soon enjoying a nice breakfast just on the edge of Beverley by mid morning with plenty of time to spare before we were due at Isla and Chris’ wedding.

We had been advised that parking outside the church was limited and Isla had agreed for us to have one of the spaces available. Allowing ourselves time we got to the church by 11am which meant we could park outside the front of the church but also leave plenty of space for the wedding cars.

We were soon unpacked and had our piano and cello set up and tuned inside the church. This gave Jules a chance to have a quick look at the electronic organ. There was also a pipe organ in the church but it was locked and its use seemed to be discouraged!

We really enjoyed being a part of Isla and Chris’ Church Wedding and we wish them both all the very best for the future.

Really was an amazing day and these two were fantastic from the beginning of the booking process to the big day! Our guests have told me multiple times how good the music was, thank you both for helping make our day magical!

St Peters Church Hutton Cranswick

There has been a church on the site of St Peter’s since the late 7th century and there are elements of the long history evident in the current Grade II listed building.

The Church of St Peter’s is situated at Hutton and has Norman fragment in the South doorway as well as early English arcades, a perpendicular tower and Victorian windows. There are six church bells in all which ring out loud and crystal clear. They attract campanologists from far and wide who come to “ring the changes”.

The Churchyard gained a Yorkshire Rose Award in Summer 2005 as being the best maintained in the whole of Yorkshire.  Only two places of worship in the county received this accolade, which was  awarded at the discretion of the Judges.
