Huntsmill Farm is an idyllic 18th-century barn wedding venue set in the majestic Buckinghamshire landscape, on the border of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. Today we were here to provide daytime music for a beautiful wedding.

Ceremony, Drinks and Meal
On arrival we were met by Amelia, the wedding co-ordinator for today’s wedding who was very helpful in giving us a suitable location to setup with our instruments. This venue, for us at least, has the distinct advantage of being able to play for the ceremony, drinks and wedding meal from a single location. Not only does this make things easier for us, it also means the couple get more music as we can simply keep playing rather than moving around.

Lara had chosen some great songs for the ceremony and given us some specific instructions for the bridal entrance. As she had 5 bridesmaids entering ahead of her, she wanted a slower tempo for ‘One Republic’ but also asked us to play the first chorus when she entered.
As there is not a lot of song ahead of the first chorus we had to devise a slightly longer version which coupled with some improvisation and a slower tempo we timed to perfection on the day. These sort of moments cannot be rehearsed and so it relies entirely on our musicality and experience to make sure it works perfectly on the day.
The Drinks Reception and Meal
We tweaked our set up slightly whilst the guests were involved in the confetti shot but were soon ready to continue playing music during the drinks reception. For this part of the day our setlist included:

We really enjoyed being a part of Lara and Michael’s wedding and wish them both every happiness as they embark on their married life together.
