The Rochford Hotel, as its name suggests can be found in the town of Rochford in Essex. Arriving with plenty of time in hand our set up was fairly straightforward and the ceremony room, which looked stunning, decked out with church pews, was easily accessible from the car park.

The Ceremony
We chose to set up at the back of the ceremony room for today’s wedding as we had a blend of two songs for the bridal entrance. Sophie had chosen some great songs, some of which were new to us and so we made her a completely new and bespoke arrangement for piano and cello.
Sophie looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful dress as she entered to our blend of Back at One, seamlessly blended into Thank God I found You.
The ceremony, which was lead by a pastor, was really beautifully done and, even though we don’t know Sophie and Romayne beyond our engagement as wedding musicians for them, we found the ceremony very moving and meaningful. Whilst we love all weddings some registrar services can become rather formulaic. This one, however, was really focussed on the couple and their friends and family and you could feel the love in the room both between Sophie and Romayne and from their family.

As well as the music above we also accompanied members of the bridal party who were singing the hymn ‘Goodness of God’. It was a pleasure to be able to be a part of this and the singing from the bridal party was such a poignant moment. There wasn’t time for a rehearsal, but having been involved in church services for as long as we can remember, we had a good idea of what was needed for this moment!

Music for the Drinks Reception
After the lovely wedding ceremony, we relocated to the bar area of the hotel to continue providing music during the drinks reception which followed.
Our set, for this part of the day, included:]
– All you need is love
– All my life
– Always be my baby
– Brown eyed girl
– Chandelier
– Crazy Little Thing Called Love
– Dance Monkey
– Dancing in the moonlight
– Halo (Beyonce)
– I say a little prayer
– Signed, Sealed Delivered
– This will be an everlasting love
We really enjoyed being part of Sophie and Romayne’s wedding but all too soon they were called to view the meal room which signalled our time to leave. We had a lovely time and were very appreciative of the kind comments from their guests while we were playing.
We wish Sophie and Romayne every happiness as they embark on their married life together.
