One advantage of local weddings is we have plenty of time before the ceremony, particularly as today was a 2pm start. We even had time to go to our lovely local cafe in Kington St Michael for a cooked breakfast before it was time to head over to Tortworth Court.
Imagine, if you will, a setting straight from the pages of a romantic novel—a grand Victorian country house nestled amidst rolling Gloucestershire parkland, its turrets and towers peeking through centuries-old trees. Welcome to Tortworth Court Hotel, a place where history and elegance come together in the most delightful of matrimony.
Once the seat of the distinguished Ducie family, this splendid estate now opens its arms to modern-day love stories, offering an atmospheric backdrop worthy of the grandest wedding day. Think sweeping staircases, stained glass, and whispers of the past around every oak-paneled corner—all brought to life with impeccable service and a touch of timeless charm.

JAM Duo Musicians at Tortworth Court
We really enjoyed being back at Tortworth Court for today’s wedding of Lauren and Ryan. Whilst we were only playing during their ceremony today there was some great music and the ceremony had a lovely atmosphere with the sun shining down through the roof of the orangery.
All too soon it was time for us to bid farewell to this wedding but we were very grateful to Lauren and Ryan who had left a hamper for us as a way of saying thank you. It’s not often that we get gifts from couples (and indeed nor do we expect anything) so it was really rather touching that our small part in their day warranted such a lovely gift.
We wish Lauren and Ryan every happiness as they embark on their married future together.
