Situated in the heart of Surrey, Oatlands Park Hotel stands as a remarkable blend of rich history and contemporary elegance. Originally built on the site of a grand Tudor palace commissioned by King Henry VIII in the 16th century, the estate once served as a royal residence for monarchs including Queen Elizabeth I and King James I. The original palace, known as Oatlands Palace, was part of the crown’s network of lavish homes and hunting lodges, enjoying a prestigious place in England’s regal past.

Though the palace itself was eventually demolished in the 17th century, the grounds retained their stately charm. In the 18th century, a new mansion was constructed on the site, evolving over time into the magnificent building that stands today. Oatlands Park Hotel has since undergone a number of transformations, carefully preserving its heritage while embracing modern luxury.

Today, the hotel offers guests a unique opportunity to experience historic grandeur alongside contemporary comfort. Surrounded by 10 acres of picturesque parkland and with views across the Broadwater Lake, Oatlands Park Hotel is not only a popular destination for leisure and business travelers, but also one of Surrey’s most sought-after wedding and event venues. Its historic character, elegant architecture, and timeless charm continue to captivate all who visit.

Ceremony and Reception

This was our first wedding at the Oatlands Park Hotel in Weybridge but as it transpired everything was extremely well organised and there was plenty of space for vendor parking which made it easy for us to unload our instruments and set up with our piano shell.

Our first involvement in today’s wedding was the traditional registrar lead ceremony which took place in a splendid room to the side of the hotel.

After the ceremony there was an informal lunch which followed photographs in the hotel grounds. For this we were able to remain in the same location whilst the couple and their guests enjoyed the splendid asian food.
