Ceremony and Drinks Reception
The Ceremony
Starting upstairs in the gatehouse we provided music for Alice and Jack’s wedding ceremony. Unusually we had to perform outside the ceremony room as there wasn’t a lot of space. Fortunately one of the venue team members was able to assist us with timings and cues as we had no sight of the registrars, or the bride as she entered!

The Drinks Reception
After the ceremony we moved downstairs to the drinks reception which was being held in the small bar area and outside with some patio heaters. Unfortunately, at least for the venue, at the precise moment the guests went into the drinks reception all the power went off for the entire venue.
For us this wasn’t a problem as we go prepared for almost any eventuality. Jules quickly retrieved one of our portable power supplies from the car and within moments we had our own supply of electricity and could continue playing. Of course the only thing we couldn’t supply was some heating, and it was extremely cold, even where we had set up in the bar area. But nevertheless, the show must go on as they say. And so even in temperatures of around 5 degrees and very little lighting we carried on playing – and I have to say thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere which this created.
It was a pleasure to be part of Alice and Jack’s wedding and we wish them all the very vest for their married future together.
