This was our second visit to Norwood Hall which is situated within Norwood Park in Nottinghamshire. Today, being January, it was an indoor wedding for the loveliest of couples – Syndu and Rajiv.

Ceremony and Drinks Reception

Norwood Park is an exclusive private country estate in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Restored to its original grandeur while dramatically fusing the styles of the old with the new.

There are sweeping staircases, elegant rooms, gorgeous grounds, sumptuous bars, and more than a few hints of eccentric whimsy throughout.

Couples can celebrate exclusively at this secluded country estate in complete privacy, the perfect venue for; weddings, corporate retreats, private celebrations, short stays, filming and photoshoots, plus so much more.

The Bridal Entrance

Syndu had chosen Jessy’s Land for her Bridal Entrance Song. Jessy’s Land is a Tamil language song and is sung by A.R. Rahman and Megha. Jessy’s Land, from the album Vinnathaandi Varuvaayaa Bafta (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), was released in the year 2010.

As there is no known arrangement of this and, from what we could find, not even a piano transcription of the song, we created a completely bespoke arrangement for Syndu which was our absolute pleasure.

Love Story by Taylor Swift

After the wedding ceremony we relocated with our instruments into the main house to set up for the drinks reception. This was held in one of the main rooms off the hallway and as part of the drinks reception there was the cake cutting along with a number of official photographs.

There wasn’t a great deal of room with 100 people but we managed to find ourselves a suitable corner and the guests soon spread out around the house, gathering together for the cake cutting.

After we had finished our set for the drinks reception and once the guests were called to dinner, we had also been invited by the couple to share with their wedding meal. This was Sri Lanken Street food and it was very kind of Syndu and Rajiv to allow us to share their meal. The curry was absolutely splendid as indeed was all the food and we enjoyed sitting in the bar for a few moments before taking our leave and heading back to the Cotswolds.

This was a really lovely wedding and one which we thoroughly enjoyed being a part of. We wish Syndu and Rajiv every happiness as they embark on their married future together and thank them for choosing JAM Duo to provide their daytime wedding music
