Today’s wedding was in a lovely 19th century Welsh Chapel just on the edge of Swansea. Starting with a church ceremony the wedding party then moved to a nearby farm for a lovely outdoor drinks reception and meal.

Starting at the Nebo Chapel near Swansea, our first role in today’s wedding was to provide music for the wedding ceremony. Gemma had chosen some lovely music for the chapel ceremony:

As you can probably tell from the photo, there wasn’t much room in the chapel. We were given a small space in the corner just at the East end of the chapel.
Whilst there was an aisle down both sides of the chapel neither was particularly wide, so it was quite a challenge for the bride to walk down with her Father as they entered. Despite this, it was a lovely service and the minister in charge was quite possibly the most welcoming we have ever known. The service was conducted beautifully and it turned out the registrar was also the Grooms Mother! That’s certainly a first for us!
Wedding Drinks Reception
After the chapel service we moved a few miles up the road to a nearby farm where a marquee had been set up for the drinks reception and meal.
Initially we elected to set up outside – Gemma had wanted a ‘festival’ feel to her wedding day and so we figured this was probably the best way of recreating that. IN fact this plan worked extremely well until after about an hour or so the heavens opened and it literally poured down with rain. Luckily we just had enough time to get ourselves and our instruments into the marquee so we could continue playing until the band turned up for the evening set.
