Once a royal residence to Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I, today Ashridge House is an award winning meeting, events and wedding venue. Set in 190 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, Ashridge House is located in Hertfordshire, only 30 minutes north of London and within easy reach of all major transport connections.

Today was our first visit this year to Ashridge House which is an outstanding venue in Hertfordshire.
The Wedding Ceremony
Starting in the Main Hall with its imposing staircase we set up for the wedding ceremony of Simona and Demi. This was another situation where we were blending music together for the Bridal party entrance. Except here we had.3 pieces to blend together. The first was for the Groom and his Mother, then the Bridesmaids and then the Bride. Added to this they were all entering via the staircase from above us but from different corners. This meant we didnt have a clear line of site for any of them apart from the Groom!
Nevertheless, it is our job to manage in such situations and with a little assistance from the Registrar’s eyes, we were able to blend the songs all at exactly the right time so everyone walked in to their own songs!
The Drinks Reception
After the wedding ceremony the bridal party and their guests went to a chapel elsewhere within the Ashridge Estate for a Service of Blessing. As this didnt involve music, we took the time to move our instruments and piano shell so we were ready to play during the drinks reception.
The Wedding Breakfast
As well as music for the drinks reception we had also arranged to play a song for the Bride and Groom to enter their wedding breakfast as well as a few songs after that during the meal.
Once we had played for around half an hour, a singer then took over to provide music for the rest of the wedding breakfast.
