Music can help to create a delightful ambiance for your wedding drinks reception. JAM Duo provide beautiful background music that helps to set the stage for relaxation and meaningful conversations among your guests.

Quiet Background Music or Get the Party Started

Our primary aim is to enhance the atmosphere at your wedding without overly intruding on the festivities. Our music can act as a gentle soundtrack, creating an inviting and pleasant environment for your guests to unwind and engage in conversation. Our repertoire is carefully chosen to encompass a range of genres and styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Equally, however, we can create an upbeat and louder set if you are looking to create more of a party atmosphere during your drinks reception. By using a Nord Stage Piano and Yamaha electric cello we can be as loud (or as quiet) as the occasion requires.

How Much Music?

Typically, our performance during the drinks reception will be approximately 90 minutes, allowing ample time for your guests to enjoy the music whilst they enjoy drinks and canapés. We do not take a break during your drinks reception so you will get uninterrupted music throughout.

With an average of 10 songs per hour, there is plenty of flexibility to include a selection of your favorite songs. We invite you to share your choices with us, which you can do when you complete our client form around 6 weeks before your wedding. We will then incorporate your music choices into our performance, adding that personal touch to your special day.

At JAM Duo, we believe in providing a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Within reason, based on a guide of 90 minutes, we do not impose any time limits on our performance. Our commitment is to adapt to the flow of your drinks reception and carry on as necessary, ensuring that the musical atmosphere remains enchanting and uplifting until your guests move on to the wedding breakfast.

Space Required – Performing Indoors and Outside

When you choose JAM Duo, you can relax knowing that we come fully prepared with our own instruments and sound system to create a captivating musical experience. Our preferred setup includes our Electric Cello and Nord Stage Piano, which produce a beautiful depth of sound that will mesmerize your audience.

To accommodate our performance, all we. need from your venue is a space of approximately 2m x 2m. This allows us to comfortably set up our instruments and create a visually appealing arrangement that adds to the overall ambiance of your wedding.

While our performances primarily take place indoors, we understand the desire for outdoor celebrations. Weather permitting, we are more than happy play outside and bring everything needed for this.

In terms of logistics, we are entirely self-sufficient. We do not require access to electricity as we bring our own portable power pack. This means that we can set up and perform in any location. Our dedication to providing a seamless experience extends to ensuring that our technical requirements are not a limiting factor for your event.

A note on performing outdoors:

If you would like us to perform outdoors, generally this not an issue. We have our own (silent) portable power pack so can set up anywhere. The only thing we cannot control is the weather – generally however if it is pouring with rain, we rather tend to assume your guests won’t be outside either! Provided there is adequate shelter we are happy to perform in marquee’s or under umbrellas provided they are suitable to keep our instruments dry. We do have our own small gazebo which can be erected to offer protection against full sun or light rain.
