Today was a trip to the North East for us to provide daytime wedding music for Sade and Yemi in the stunning surroundings of Beamish Hall Hotel just outside of Durham. Beamish Hall is an extraordinary fairytale wedding that captures the true magic of love. Beamish Hall boasts oh so pretty, enchanted woodland ceremonies and strikingly elegant function suites.
Today’s venue meant a departure time from home of 4am. This gave us plenty of time to do the journey from the Cotswolds up to Durham and by leaving early meant we didn’t have to worry too much about traffic.

Setting up in front of the fireplace we had a lovely view of the ceremony and particularly enjoyed playing the blend of two songs for the Bridal entrance. Sade had 6 bridesmaids and Yemi 6 groomsmen who all entered together very elegantly in pairs. This did mean we had to somewhat extend the first song – Back at One. However, this is absolutely not a problem and one of the benefits of live musicians particularly where you want two songs for the bridal entrance.
As well as us providing music there were also two other fabulous musicians leading the worship songs during the wedding service.
The Drinks Reception
After the service we swiftly relocated to provide music during the drinks reception. For this point in the day Sade and Yemi had requested a mixture of jazz and contemporary popular love songs.
To fit with the glamour of the venue, today we were using our beautiful gloss back piano shell which always looks splendid in such venues.
We left as Sade and Yemi were preparing to go into their first dance and wedding breakfast along with their super stylish bridesmaids and groomsmen.
After packing away we then headed back down the A1M to the South West, arriving home around 11pm. It was a long day, but we thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Sade and Yemi’s wedding day and we are very grateful they chose JAM Duo to provide their day time music. They are a lovely couple and we wish them every happiness as they embark on their married future together.
