Typically, most couples save the first dance until after the sit-down dinner has finished. Usually there is a short gap often known as ‘Cocktail Hour’ where your daytime guests freshen up and additional guests arrive for the evening party.
If we are providing music for your full day then this is usually the time when we would take a break. However if you would like music at this point either live or a selection of music played through our speaker then do please talk to us at the point of booking.
It’s then time for the traditional First Dance.
Choosing the Song
The song for the first dance should be personal to the bride and groom, it does not necessarily have to be classically romantic, just as long as it is of sentimental value. If couples are stuck for ideas there are plenty of suggestions on our listen page – from the classic to the quirky and contemporary.
Of course, there is no reason why you should follow tradition at all, and there are many alternatives to the first dance, especially if you want to do something completely different. Whatever you do, choose something that reflects the both of your personalities and a song which has meaning for you both. JAM Duo can play anything at all regardless of whether it’s currently on our listen page.
JAM Duo can arrange any song of your choice to suit Cello and Piano whether classical or contemporary. As the Cello is often said to be the string instrument which most closely resembles the human voice it is well suited to a wide range of music. And what could be more romantic than a song arranged just for you and performed live whilst you dance together?
If you would like to find out more please head over to our contact page as we would love to hear from you and discuss your ideas.
