Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland and the notorious mistress of Charles II, is thought to have lived on the estate in the 16th-century and ‘The Uncrowned Queen’, as she was known as, would surely have approved of the extensive work that has been carried out to transform the former stables into a Ceremony Room and Stunning Barn which now play host to your magical day.
The venue is located 2 miles from Thorpe-le-Soken centre and 20 minutes from the A12. Thope-le-Soken has direct train links from London Liverpool Street, Stratford, Shenfield and Colchester and is only a 2 minute drive from Villiers Barn.
Ceremony Room
Villiers Barn is fully registered to host civil ceremonies in our converted ceremony room.
The ceremony room has been converted from its original stable block, into a light and airy contemporary space. It is attached but separate from the main barn to enhance even more excitement when walking through for your wedding breakfast.

Bridal Suite
The former coach house has been transformed into a beautiful bridal suite, which sits between a delightful courtyard and swimming pool – all perfect for photo opportunities. It is a great place for you to get ready with your bridal party! It consists of a kitchenette, a stylish bathroom with shower and has two light and airy sitting rooms where the bridal party can get ready including seating, mirrors and a dressing table. One of which overlooks the swimming pool courtyard and is the perfect place to get ready with your close ones for your special wedding day.
The Coach House is located 25 yards from the Grand Barn and Ceremony Room, and offers private parking for the bridal party only. The suite overlooks the grounds of Villiers Barn and the lakes.
Honeymoon Lodge
Our overnight accommodation is offered for the wedding couple within the Honeymoon Lodge. The bedroom overlooks our tranquil lakes and is the perfect place to spend your first night as a married couple. A continental breakfast is also offered the next day for the newlyweds.
The Honeymoon Lodge is located near the Grand Barn and Ceremony Room, and offers private parking for the newlyweds only.
